Certificate of Marital Status is the process to confirm Vietnamese citizens currently residing (permanently or temporarily) in the United States who applies for Certificate of Marital Status (first-time marriage or divorced) for the purpose of marriage or other legal needs (e.g., certifying the property ownership in Vietnam, etc.).
1. Required Documents
Completed application form for Certificate of Marital Status.
Copy/photo of valid Vietnamese passport.
Copy/photo of U.S. Green Card.
Copy/photo of the fiancé(e)’s identification (Vietnamese citizen ID or passport) if applying for marriage purposes.
Court divorce decree or death certificate of the previous spouse (if applicable), notarized and legalized by the Vietnamese Consulate.
Contact information (address, phone number, email, full name of the person receiving the documents).
