Certificate of Single Status is a legal document certifying that a U.S. citizen or U.S. permanent resident is currently single or unmarried (first-time marriage or divorced), authenticated by the Vietnamese Consulate in the United States.

Affidavit of Single Status.
Certificate of Search of Marriage Status
Marital Status Confirmation Letter.
Marriage Registration Form.
Personal Background Form.
Certificate of No Impediment to Marriage.
Copy/photo of U.S. Passport or Green Card.
Divorce court judgement (if previously divorced).
Death certificate (if spouse is deceased).
One passport photo (4 x 6 cm or 2 x 2in, white background, front-facing, bare head, clear face and ears, no glasses). Photo Sample.
Contact information (address, phone number, email, full name of the person receiving the documents).

3. Important Notes
The Single Status Certificate is valid for up to 6 months and cannot be extended.
Processing time starts once we receive the complete application and it is accepted by the Consulate General.
In some cases, processing may take longer time depending on the actual circumstances.
