Contract notarization is the official certification of the accuracy and legality of agreements and transactions in accordance with Vietnamese law. The Embassy/Consulate has authority to notarize documents such as wills, statements of inheritance waiver, powers of attorney, and other types of contracts or agreements.
(Excludes contracts related to the sale, transfer, donation, lease, mortgage, or capital contribution using real estate in Vietnam.)

1. Required Documents

• Application form for notarization.
• The notarization request contract is prepared by a company or lawyer in Vietnam which shall be accepted by the authorities or courts.
• The contract or transaction document to be notarized (e.g., will, power of attorney, or other agreements).
• Copies of any documents required by law that are related to the contract or agreement.
• Copy/photo of proof of legal residence in the United States (e.g., U.S. passport, Green Card, driver’s license).
• Certified copy of Vietnamese national ID card, passport, or household registration book.
• Contact information (address, phone number, email, full name of the person receiving the documents).
