Stars Vacation provides services to apply the Birth Certificate for Vietnamese children born in the United States whose parents are both Vietnamese citizens, or where either the father or mother is a Vietnamese citizen. Birth registration can be completed at the Vietnamese Consulate.

1. Required Documents

If the child has not been registered in the vital or clerks’ records in the United States:

• Completed birth registration form
• Valid Vietnamese passport of the father and/or mother.
• Proof of the parent(s)’ legal residence in the United States (e.g. US Driver license or Identification Card, US entry record I-94, Green Card, I-20, employment contract, U.S. visa or U.S. passport).
• Marriage certificate.
• Original birth certificate issued by the hospital or medical facility in the U.S.
• Contact information (address, phone number, email, full name of the person receiving the documents).

Note:
According to Vietnamese law, birth registration is only allowed once. Therefore, the original U.S. birth certificate must be submitted to prove that the child has not been registered for birth in the United States.

• For children under 16 years old, at least one parent must hold a valid Vietnamese passport to be eligible for the issuance of birth certificate.
• If both parents have valid Vietnamese passports, children over 16 years old are still eligible for a birth certificate.
• In some cases, the process may take longer time depending on the complete application and when the application is accepted by the Embassy / Consulate
