Divorce Annotation Registration Abroad is an administrative process for recognizing a divorce or marriage annulment that has been settled abroad, to be officially recorded in the civil status registry in Vietnam. It applies to Vietnamese citizens who have divorced overseas and wish to have their divorce recognized in Vietnam.
1. Required Documents
Application form for divorce annotation registration
A legally effective divorce judgment or decision issued by a foreign court
A notarized Vietnamese translation of the divorce judgment or decision
Certified copy of the applicant’s ID documents (ID card/Citizen ID, passport)
Photocopies of both spouses’ Vietnamese passports
Proof of legal residence in the U.S. (driver license, Identification Card)
Contact information (address, phone number, email, full name of the person receiving the documents)
