This type of power of attorney applies to authorizations for personal, family, or business matters that are not related to property or real estate in Vietnam. It is a legally recognized procedure between the Grantor and the Authorized Person, as defined by Vietnamese law.
1. Required Documents
From the Grantor (Person giving authorization):
- Documents specifying the agreement or content of the authorization.
- Documents and authorization contracts are prepared by family members or lawyers in Vietnam which shall be accepted by the authorities or courts.
- Copy/photo of proof of legal residence in the U.S. (U.S. passport, Green Card, driver’s license).
From the Authorized Person (Person receiving authorization):
- Vietnamese national ID card or Vietnamese passport.
- Contact information (address, phone number, email, full name of the person receiving the documents).

3. Important Notes
- Processing time starts once we receive the complete application and it is accepted by the Embassy / Consulate
- In some cases, processing may take longer time depending on the actual circumstances.
- Vietnam’s diplomatic office in foreign country shall verify personal documents to prove the applicant’s residence in the U.S.
